The Manitoba Arts Network Showcase conference, held in Flin Flon last week, is going really well
as of this writing.
We have more than 100 people from all over Manitoba and a representative from Dryden, Ontario. Then we have about 50 performers in a variety of configurations, solo acts, duos, a family of five playing fiddles and step-dancing.
There is also a circus! Vague de Cirque, from Quebec, performs acrobatics inspired by the small traditional European circuses.
The Manitoba Arts Network (MAN) is a non-profit, charitable arts promotion organization dedicated to advancing and showcasing arts and culture throughout Manitoba.
Its mandate is to create opportunities for all Manitobans to experience and participate in arts and cultural activities; promote visual, performing and literary art and artists through touring programs; provide professional development for artists and arts organizations; and develop and support a strong network of Manitoba arts organizations.
“I want to spread my wings, I want to grow,” says CC Trubiak.
Last week, the Flin Flon musician learned he would receive an opportunity to do just that: he has been chosen to take part in the Manitoba Music Emerging Artists Showcase.
The event, part of the Manitoba Showcase 2015 being held in Flin Flon, will see Trubiak and three other emerging artists perform songs for an audience of industry professionals later this month
